 Is it possible for a psychologically well-balanced person to be a politician?  What if one has no need of the ego-boost, no need of applauds, no need for personal power. (or in a conscious way obtains it from another place and do not project on the political arena) We may have now such controversial example – it is Beppe Grillo in Italy.  In the latest election in February, he won 25.5% of votes but he clearly told that he, personally will not sit in the parliament and the party he is heading will not bind himself into long term coalitions.  In addition, until now a week after the election, he maintains the transparency he has promised and publishes all proposals form the other parties for the coalitions. Until now he has not compromised his position and has not taken any prominent and well paid proposal. How long can he be so “true to himself” how long he is capable to keep a distance to the lucrative and powerful positions or not accept an admiration of the masses? If you follow his sketches and shows one can see that he has long time ago understand how the politics works. He has good insight into human weaknesses based on projection of infantile needs and misguided search for protection and care. He has very well understood the weakness of the Pirate parties which are not capable (due to collective way of acting) to focus attention of the masses and not even able to agree on the common platform not even the rules and actions.

 It has to be stated that in Sweden to pay for sex is punishable offense. So, why a Swedish which in Sweden considers a visit to bordello an unacceptable action, when visiting Austria “releases” this constrain. It is well known that the Swedish tourist behave abroad in a scandalous way often in the state of alcohol intoxication. Where are the moral values.?  Is the behavior in Sweden totally steered by the fear of punishment without any relation to the core of moral values?

Are the moral values part of the core identity, a backbone of a person or is it a part of the persona-mask used in the social context. Is the structure consisting of; -the identity, moral values, legal system, responsibility and relation between those entities different in different countries? It seems so. The Swedish society enforces a very respectful, progressive and tolerant framework for the public sphere but it seems, these values are at the level of  external “persona” and not integrated in to a deeper core personality/identity. So if in a new environment (other country) where the social norms are different the a “persona” of a Swedish “adjusts” to the new environment and acts according to the new context. Hence some Swedish when abroad transform from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde.  (once at the the parents-teachers conference at the school in Roma, wine was provieded to parents free - nobody got drunk)

An honest description but what does it mean.   The politicians, the businessmen and the entrepreneurs are exchanging complement, flattery, showing admiration but what is the underlying structure of this interaction.

 Let assume you are invited and you are there. It is a chance to create new contacts, and promote yourself, to improve your position in the future.  If you want to be successful, promote your carrier you have to play with and the key word is to “play”, by putting on a mask i.e. “persona” and do as others do - you have cleverly to lie about how fantastic the others are, how good, they are, elegant , intelligent., etc.

 And now comes the second part of the Johnson’s statement “constellation of egos” and as long as you do not believe in what is communicated to your persona-mask, you are in control of the situation. (you have always to remember that it is a mask.).You behave in the same way like everybody else but you are free, you are “in yourself” ipsum esse. You have not incorporated an artificial image of "persona" into your ego.

 The main issue is how to maintain distance between you as ipsum esse and our mask and not forget that the persona-mask is not you.
