Are democratic elections guarantee for the survival of democracy

Dear Mr Schrems Dear Mr Albrecht
You are struggling with Facebook/Google to prevent them collection user’s data. Social Media providers use some of my data – I don’t care. I assume you are worrying. I care about my privacy, I don’t like someone entering my property without the court allowance and without asking me – it seems you don’t care or you are afraid of authorities. Here are some people entering our garden in 2016 to control if we conduct, behave and live in a worthy way - BTW today is 80 years anniversary of Nazi Germany annexation of Austria.
I would be happy if you could engage yourself more to empower citizens, ensure that they can decide about their life, able to defend themselves, show photo and video as evidence in court like in Sweden to ensure justice, that the Rule of Law is followed, that the women can protect themselves from harassment, get the same pay as men. To achieve all this one needs transparency.
You are Austrian, Jan is German, I am Swedish who lived long time in Austria working at the United Nations. In Austria there is no Street View, it is limited in Germany, why? In Sweden I check the how location looks before going to a park, or when I want to find a shop where I am going to buy a tee. After checking at Street View I can find it easily. I don’t need lawyers to defend me if I have dash camera in my car.
You tweet that you wait already 40 minutes to get an ID card. I Sweden I can book time, on line, in any town and pick up my ready ID card or passport at any town I want.
Yes, the administration is transparent but privacy in Sweden is holy like in UK, nobody can enter my garden without my permission unless I am suspected of a serious crime on order of the court. . In many countries all is secret so that the citizen is not able to provide evidence, to understand the relations. Very similar to communist states where one could be accused of any of thousands crimes.
I assume fears and you suspicion echoes from of the Word War II, yes it is frightening, do you worry that your country could become a dictatorship again, could people elect dictatorial leaders in the democratic election. Yes, there are examples in the near history and today in practice one-man political movement.
I wish you put energy to rectify obvious problems on the level of values held by the society. If you don’t trust the society, people’s political choices then I understand your fears and behaviour.
